Recipe of Shahi Tukray
Ingredients
- Thick bread slices 8 remove the crust
- Milk 2 ½ cup
- Sugar 2 cups
- Yellow color pinch
- Saffron ½ tsp
- Kewra water 1 tbsp
- Balai 1 cup
- Almonds and pistachio 2 tbsp each
- Ghee for frying bread
- Cardamom powder ½ tsp
- Water 1 cup
Method
- To make the sugar syrup cook sugar and water in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves.
- Heat ghee in a pan and add yellow color
- Fry bread slices in ghee, pour prepared sugar syrup in an oven tray
- Assemble bread slices in the syrup, top with milk and balai, saffron and kewra
- Sprinkle almonds and pistachios .Cover and cook on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes till the mixture dries.
